The Bloomberg terminal has long enjoyed near-iconic status among money managers and traders for its up-to-the-second data and analytics about markets globally. Its steep cost has attracted competition, including lately from entrants such as Money.Net and Symphony. It remains to be seen whether the entrants will become part of the long list of challengers that Bloomberg has overcome, or if they will prove serious competition for the professional investor information services market that Bloomberg serves.
